17/5/16 - Delamere GC. PGA Championship Qualifer - T1st WIN - 71 (-1)

I managed to pick up the win at Delamere and even better I qualified for the National Championships in July at the Oxfordshire. I put into play my 1 hour a day practice and it really paid off with the short game. Delamere is a long course and I am not the longest player but I chipped very well on the day.

It couldn't of been a worse start with a double bogey on the first but I have had history on this hole (same as last year!) but the difference from last year was real self belief that I could get my score back from there. The very next hole I drained a putt for eagle!

My game was still not as sharp as I want it but I got it round in a colourful way (see the score card below!). It was a shared win but it didn't matter as the most important thing was to get through to the finals which if you perform well has extended perks.....

I have taken a look at my clubs and feel a change is needed and went for an excellent fitting at Fleetwood Golf Club. I have put new irons in the bag and have some time before the next comp on 9th June with a good run of events coming then. I will keep you posted as always!!!! Open qualifying on JUNE 20TH..
